Biography

Robert A. Spence, Jr. is a board-certified specialist attorney in real property law, residential transactions with Spence, Carter & Reed, PA in Smithfield, North Carolina. He has a general practice law office but concentrates his practice in civil, business, and real property transactions and litigation, local government law, real property transactions, probate matters and litigation and family law.

Mr. Spence attended Smithfield High, graduated from Woodberry Forest School, magna cum laude, and earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Wesleyan University in Middletown Connecticut and his J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He is a former Eagle Scout, a past chairman of the Neusiok District of the Boy Scouts of America, a past president of the Smithfield Rotary Club, and a former chairman of the Administrative Board of Centenary United Methodist Church. He is also a former board member of North Carolina Farm Workers Legal Services, a former board member of East Central Community Legal Services, a former chairman of the Board of Trustees and former Chair Trustee of the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield, a former chairman of the Johnston County Chapter of the North Carolina Community Foundation.
